My time in the redwoods was shared by my first dog (my sorely-missed foundling poodle, Hobie), several goats,
and a pair of cats.  I started doing pet portraits towards the end of that period.
Shortly after I met my husband,  we moved to  Washington, with three cats, and our first greyhound (race school drop-out Brilly).

Since moving here, I’ve been carried along by the greyhound community all over the world, who have been so supportive of my artwork that I haven’t done any odd-jobs in years!

We now have the three (aging) cats,
and three greyhounds (apparently it’s true that you can’t have just one).  I do my artwork here in my studio, and my husband runs his business

When we can, we love to go mushrooming, hiking, or traveling.  My excellent husband has taken me to the Grand Canyon (invisible in the falling snow - I’ve still never seen it!), to Greece (ah, Naxos!), and to France (where we came upon the drifting remains of a giant pillow fight in the city center of Toulouse).  Daily life is a busy round of work, animal chores, family, and snuggling with the housemates.

Now that you know me a little more, please introduce yourself to me.  My blog is meant to be a place where we can get to know each other, so come on by.

‘Til we meet again!

PS, Meet me on Facebook, too!

“I started out as a child,” as Bill Cosby says on a record I remember playing often when I was little.
My sisters and I were little in the beach towns of Los Angeles, California, in the ‘60s, with all that implies.  Our family’s house was the one with the stained glass window on the front, painted by hippies grateful for a crash pad as they moved through their personal journeys. Horses were doodled or lovingly detailed on everything I could lay a pencil to for years.  Then it was long-legged girls with platform shoes on the edges of all my schoolwork.  Between odd-jobs to keep body and soul together, I continued to learn to draw and paint, practicing and playing, as I traveled my own personal
journey.

I lived in northern California for awhile, then Portland, Oregon.  Back to L.A. for an awful bit, then up north again to the redwood coast.  I lived happily in the woods for many years, painting signs, doing some graphics, doing product design, and coloring comic books.

(Yes, that was a real job!)
